Los Angeles Airport Guide
Comprehensive Los Angeles Airport Guides
The elegant curved arches above the main terminal building of Los Angeles international airport, or LAX are one of the most iconic and instantly recognisable sights in the city along with Graumann's Chinese theatre, and the Hollywood sign, and the inside of the building also boasts a pleasant airy feel that makes it one of the most relaxing airports in the world for travellers. The building is fully air-conditioned, and boasts a number of restaurants, a sizeable shopping area where you can pick up some souvenirs and essential items.
There are an astonishing 9 terminals at LAX and you should confirm which one you are using with your airline before setting off, because making a mistake could result in you missing your flight.
The airport itself is around 15 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles, and is well signposted. The traffic can be extremely heavy at peak times, so leave plenty of time for getting to the airport from the city, and bear in mind that you will need to drop off your hire car before you check in.
